Two Years

Two years ago, we had absolutely no idea that we'd make it this far, and even after eating a nice dinner at Gratzi's on Main Street (good food, cheaper than Chop House), the reality of this enduring relationship hasn't quite hit us yet.  All I can say...aside from the ridiculously good tuna steak and risotto for me, and grilled pork tenderloin and whipped potatoes for her, that I am beyond amazed.  Amazed at how beautiful she has been the past two years, and how we've been able to continue to believe and have faith together during hard times.  I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us!

Wow, two years! That's 730 days. Crazyyyy! Hahah, anyway, on a more serious note, Jerry and I were reminscing about these past two years at Bubble Island tonight. That was where we first spent time together, and it was just funny to see how much we've both changed and grown (for the better!) and how far we've come. After dinner, we came home, and our friends were there to celebrate with us! It was so cute, a little awkward, but a good reminder of how our relationship influences other people too. We took some silly pictures, and I look back and I can definitely see how God has changed and grown both of us. I know He will continue to do so, so I hope we will continue to trust in Him and grow even more in our relationship with Him.

Wow, it's been over a month since I've posted something here! Yikes. Well... I have five more days left in Taiwan. This summer has been pretty amazing!

These past couple days have been a lot of fun, catching up with the girls, finally reuniting and having a blast eating, taking sticky pics, and other random goodness. I've missed this type of comfortable girl time, where you don't have to worry about anything. Having known all these girls since I was 10, they've really become my sisters. They know almost everything about me and they still love me! That's quite impressive.

Let me show you a picture of these beautiful ladies. (thanks, Eunice, for the picture!)

Jodi, Amy, me, Joyce, and Eunice.

You guys are a big reason of why I look forward to coming back to Taiwan. I'm going to miss you guys!! See you guys in Chicago for Thanksgiving, I hope?

I'm mostly packed, but still have some things that I have to go buy today. Such as yummy Taiwan cooking spices. Mmmm, my mom taught me quite a few Chinese dishes that I'm excited to try out next year!

There is much that I'm looking forward to this coming year! But I will definitely miss Taiwan...

Yesterday, my mom shouted for us to look out the window and we saw this.

First double rainbow I've seen so clearly in my life. I had to take a picture of it.

Soon after... it started to storm outside. The typhoon arrived last night, and it's still pouring outside. None of us (in my family) got much sleep last night due to the howling wind and rain, but Hsinchu wasn't affected too much compared to the rest of Taiwan. Praise God for that! However... keep praying for the other parts of Taiwan. Some of them have been pretty devastated by this typhoon...

So I'm back from Nantou. I actually got back a while ago, but never got around to posting about it. It's been almost a week, and I miss...

The beauty and simplicity of Nantou.

My fellow teachers/SGLs/supermom: (from L-R, clockwise): Kitty, Jason, me, Amy, and Ruth. They were an awesome group to work with!

The crazy things we did for fun. (how many STMers can you fit on the window sill?)

The crazy dancing we did (sometimes 3-4 hours a DAY! I don't think I danced that much in my life)

Classroom time with the kids... it wasn't always this crazy.

Most of all... the kids. They were a great bunch...

(I don't have the class pic for our second week kids, so I'll have to add that in later)

God really worked powerfully these past two weeks. Detailed updates will come via email, because it's too long to post it all here! So be looking out for that soon.

So last week, Eunice, Jodi, and I took a trip to Kenting.

We lived here:

Ate lots of good food:

Got tattoos (they're fake!):

Had fun at the beach:

This is the life... hahaha.

On this ride, Eunice and I hung on for dear life as our inflatable tube was pulled by a guy on a jet ski. He tried so hard to make us fall off, but we held on!

We got to ride jet skis! So fun.

Dressed up to go to dinner on our last night:

And finally, we rode the high speed train back! It took us one hour and a half to get home -- pretty cool!

So my parents got back from France yesterday. It's good to have them back.   The day before they got back, my sister and I took our grandparents and my uncle and his girlfriend to this delicious Japanese restaurant. It was really good!

The sashimi was delicious.  All you can eat, too!

The family.

Yesterday was my sister's prom.

My sister is my favorite model, because it comes so naturally to her!

Sisters. <3

The 05ers at JR, right across from prom. What a fun dinner.

Two of my favorite girls! We saw this swing and just had to take a picture with it. It turned out so cute!

The prom decorations were quite nice! Good job to the juniors, you guys did a great job!

And happy birthday to my sister. Her birthday is today, haha.  She's 17!! Oh my gosh... time really flies. Growing up so fast!

This is a little bit of what I've been up to recently:

I finally finished scrapbooking freshman year, and am now working through sophomore year. Summer gives me tons of time to get all my creative energy out -- all the scrapbooking I've wanted to do this past year I've done these past couple weeks. It's been fun.

I also landed a summer job today! I'm going to be tutoring a second grade girl, a girl I've known and seen since she was three. When my mom asked me that Annie's mom had asked if I was willing to tutor her, I was like, "Annie? She's 3!"... not anymore. Time really flies!

Today was the annual CCF pie in the face!

Good times. Such a good thing to do after an exam! Hahaha.

To Jerry -- thanks for the honors. I honestly did not think I'd be the one to get you!

Before... Jerry was already kind of dirty from pie-ing Tom.

Ahhh retaliation!

I'll upload the other pictures later! I got some really good action shots.
